Personally, I love it when a guy buys me flowers, especially for no reason. I find that really romantic and thoughful - I also wouldn't feel let down by a big box of chocs either! It's something that can't be overplayed, as too often reduces its meaning.
I think the point is that the gift is irrelevant, but the fact that someone took the time and trouble to do something to please you is the main thing.
I have never bought a man flowers but if I see something, usually something quirky or funny I will buy it - just to show I have been thinking about them.

Do you buy flowers? or should he only? and if you are a guy, do you care?
by Sassy inwhen i was single and not dating anyone, i bought myself flowers if i felt like it...they just add that extra touch to the home.. .
but when dating, i tend to not buy them as much, because i don't want the guy to feel bad.. .
for instance right now.. my bf has messed up big time and although i would prefer he picked me up flowers for just the 'i am thinking of you" kind of thing.. i realize most guys do not do that... but he keeps talking about picking me up flowers.. he has for a month!

Loads - in fact I would say the hypocrites out numbered the genuine people. That's what finally convinced me that leaving was the right thing to do.

Did the WTS make an atheist out of you?
by JH inshouldn't a religion bring people closer to god?
it would seem that many became atheist after being deceived by the wts.
unlike other religions, the wts was very precise in what was to happen during the 20th century.

THis is a topic I struggle with at times. My JW experience has completely turned me off organised religion in all it's shapes and forms. My own philosophy is to try and live a decent life and do the right thing by my fellow man. I don't have any significant spiritual void and don't hanker after religious fulfillment. I don't see me participating in any religious activities in the future, or ever again.
The strange thing is tho - I would like to think that there is a God. However, when I analyse this I realise that it is purely for selfish reasons - i.e. for protection and problem solving - for example, 'please God if you help me to solve problem A/B/C whatever' then I will do X/Y/Z. So my only communication would be for my own agenda which is not what religion is supposed to be about.

Awww - that's so romantic. I think it's fear of rejection which is the biggest killer to forming relationships.
I 'admired someone from afar' for a whole year without saying anything and when I finally was about to work up the courage to say something it was too late. If you're not fast, you're last - I guess it's all about developing a thick skin.

Viz is really funny - the top tips section gets me every time. Sometimes it's a bit crude but just skip over that if it doesn't appeal.
My favourite character is Millie Tant - she reminds me of one of my old teachers at school. Viz never dissappoints, there's always something in it to have me in hysterics. -
